September 20, 2023

WIPO Director General Daren Tang joined world leaders, agency heads and UN System Principals at the UN Headquarters in New York for the 2023 SDG Summit events where he showcased WIPO GREEN as a game-changing digital platform driving positive global change to advance SDG13 on climate action.

Mr. Tang gave an address during the SDG Digital event organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that emphasized the power of digital solutions to accelerate progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and put them back on track.

As the UN agency for innovation, creativity and intellectual property, the World Intellectual Property Organization believes that to solve global challenges like climate change and put the SDGs back on track, we need to unleash the power of human innovation and creativity. And our belief that making bold statements like this must lead to strong action on the ground.
