Year of Version 2010 Dates Adopted: May 23, 1949 Type of Text Constitution/Basic Law Subject Matter Other Notes Germany’s Constitution, the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany was adopted on May 23, 1949. The Constitution specifies fundamental rights, the powers and duties of the three branches of government, and the distribution of competencies between the Federation and the States. Until 2009, there have been 57 changes to the constitution.
The Basic Law contains provisions on protection of copyright and industrial property rights. (Article 73(1)(9). Furthermore, Article 14 guarantees protection of property rights in general.

Deutschlands Verfassung, das Grundgesetz für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland, wurde am 23. Mai 1949 verabschiedet. Die Verfassung legt die Grundrechte, die Befugnisse und Pflichten der drei Gewalten und die Verteilung der Zuständigkeiten zwischen dem Bund und den Ländern fest.
Das Grundgesetz enthält Bestimmungen über den Schutz des Urheberrechts und der gewerblichen Schutzrechte (Artikel 73(1)(9). Darüber hinaus Artikel 14 das Eigentum generell.
