Law No. 82 of 2002 on the Protection of IP Rights includes four books which cover different areas of intellectual property rights:
- Book One: Patents and Utility Models, Layout -Designs for Integrated Circuits, and Undisclosed Information
- Book Two: Marks, Trade Names, Geographical Indications and Industrial Designs
- Book Three: Copyright and related Rights
- Book Four: Plant Varieties.
This consolidated version of Law No. 82 of 2002 on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (including Book One to Book Four) takes into account amendments up to "Law No. 178 of 2020", which was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force on September 5, 2020.
The amending Laws introduced amendments to this consolidated version are the following:
- Law No. 178 of 2020 amending Article 185 of Book Three relating to Copyright (in force from 05/09/2020).
- Law No. 144 of 2019 amending Articles 192, 192 bis, 193, 194, 195, 198, 201, 202, 202 bis (1) of Book Four relating to Plant Varieties (in force from 06/08/2019).
- Law No. 26 of 2015 amending Articles 189, 191, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, 198, 199, 200 201, and 202; and inserting 189 bis, 192 bis, 192 bis (1), 194 bis, 202 bis, and 202 bis (1) of Book Four relating to Plant Varieties (in force from 22/06/2015).
