Year of Version 2020 Dates Amended up to: October 27, 2020 Entry into force: January 5, 1997 Adopted: October 4, 1996 Type of Text Main IP Laws   Subject Matter Plant Variety Protection Subject Matter (secondary) IP Regulatory Body, Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes This consolidated version of the Law on the Protection of New Plant Varieties and Animal Breeds (SG No. 84/1996) takes into account amendments up to the "Law on Amendments to the Law on Patents and Utility Models Registration (SG No. 92/2020)", which entered into force on October 27, 2020; except for its section 55, which entered into force on July 14, 2020 (relating to amendments to Law on Measures and Actions during the State of Emergency). Section 53 of the said amending Law No. 92/2020 amended section Article 5c and added Article 5d under Chapter One (entitled "General Provisions") of this consolidated version.
