Year of Version 2019 Dates Adopted: July 23, 1999 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights) Notes This consolidated version of Law No. 451-I of July 23, 1999, on Mass Media takes into account amendments up to 'Law No. 241-VI of April 2, 2019, on Amendments to Certain Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Development of Business Environment and Regulation of Trade Activities', which entered into force on different dates.

Paragraph 7 under Article 1 of the said amending Law No. 241-VI of April 2, 2019, which entered into force on April 14, 2019 (ten days after its official publication in the Official Gazette on April 3, 2019) introduced amendments to item 2 under Article 5, Chapter 2 of this consolidated version.

The consolidated Law provides protection of intellectual property rights, including copyright and related rights, by mass media organizations (see Chapter 2, Article 13, item 3; and Chapter 4, Article 17).
