Article 2 of this Law provided that it entered into force on August 12, 2015, on the date on which the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union entered into force, in accordance with its Article 12.
The notification by Kyrgyzstan to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The State Regulation in the field of legal protection of selection achievements is carried out by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Initial consideration of disputes on the issues of protectability of selection achievements is carried out by the Appellate Council in the manner established by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Based on the tests done of selection achievements with respect to distinguishability, uniformity and stability, a decision is taken about their protectability.
The list of zoological genus and kinds of animals and the list of botanical genus and types of plants, the seeds of sorts of which may be planted on the territory of enterprise within two years for own use shall be approved by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.'
