Year of Version 1994 Dates Entry into force: March 24, 1994 Adopted: February 17, 1994 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Patents (Inventions) Notes The notification by the United Kingdom to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The Rules prescribe, for the purpose of section 276 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, the conditions to be satisfied by certain bodies in order for them to carry on business under the name of 'patent agents' or 'patent attorneys'.

The Patents Agents (Mixed Partnerships and Bodies Corporate) Rules 1994 no longer apply as section 279 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 was repealed under section 185(5) of and Schedule 23 to the Legal Services Act 2007.
Section 279.02 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 states that “[Section 279] was repealed on January 1, 2010 by the Legal Services Act 2007, sections 185(5) and 210 and schedule 23. The rules made under the section (The Patent Agents (Mixed Partnerships and Bodies Corporate) Rules 1994 SI 1994/362 therefore also ceased to have effect on that date”.
