The current Constitution of the Republic of Niger was adopted by referendum on October 31, 2010, and promulgated on November 25, 2010.
The Constitution of Niger does not contain provisions on intellectual property. However, it provides for the protection of property rights (Article 28); gives everyone the right to participate in intellectual, cultural, and artistic activities, among others (Article 17); and promotes the cooperation and association with other countries in cultural, scientific and technical matters (Article 172).
