THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC

WHEREBY:

The Congress of the Republic has passed the following Act:

ACT THAT EXEMPTS THE PAYMENT OF COPYRIGHT FOR REPRODUCING WORKS FOR THE BLIND

Sole Article. - Paragraph (g) is hereby added to Article 43 of Legislative Decree No. 822, Copyright Law

Paragraph (g) is hereby added to Article 43 of Legislative Decree No. 822, which is worded as follows:

“Article 43.- As regards works already disseminated legally, without authorization of the author it shall be permitted to:

(g) Reproduce intellectual works for private use by the blind, on the condition that this is done by using the Braille system or another specific procedure and that copies are not intended for profit-making purposes.”

The President of the Republic is hereby informed of its promulgation.
