Notes:The notification by South Africa to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'This Act provides for the registration of copyright in cinematograph films on a voluntary basis. The duration of registration is for such period of time as provided for the subsistence of the copyright by virtue of the provisions of the Copyright Act 1978 (Act No. 98 of 1978), i.e. 50 years. A registration constitutes evidence of copyright.'
