'The Resolution includes certain municipalities in the geographical scope of the protection provided for in the General Declaration on Protection of the Appellation of Origin 'Mezcal', published in the Official Journal of the Federation on November 28, 1994.'

The Fourth Transitional Provision of the Resolution states that this Resolution comes into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
The Resolution was published in the Official Gazette on December 24, 2015, and came into force on December 25, 2015.
