Notes
The notification by the European Union to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'[This Regulation] enables the Commission to enforce articles 85 and 86 [of the Treaty]. Art. 3 provides for orders that firms should terminate an infringement and Arts. 6-9 provide for exemptions. Most agreements which the parties want exempted must be notified to the Commission under Arts. 4 and 5. Arts. 11-14 enable the Commission to require information, while Art. 15 and 16 provide for fines and penalties. Art. 17 provides for appeals against decisions to the Court of Justice.'
