Year of Version 1994 Dates Adopted: May 18, 1994 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights) Notes Date on which Estonia became party to the Convention (Paris Act): October, 26 1994.

The notification by Estonia to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'1. The Republic of Estonia, in accordance with Article 1.3 of the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, will not apply the criterion of publication referred to in Article 5(1)(c) of the Rome Convention as regards the protection of producers of phonograms.
2. In accordance with Article 1.3 of the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, the Republic of Estonia avails itself of the possibility provided in Article 6(2) of the Rome Convention and, consequently, will protect broadcasts only if the headquarter of the broadcasting organization is situated in a WTO Member and the broadcast was transmitted from a transmitter situated in the same WTO Member.'
