The Inter-regional Workshop was organized by WIPO, Division for Certain Countries in Europe and Asia, in cooperation with the Turkish Patent Institute (TPI).
The objective of the Workshop was to present and discuss the final draft version of the WIPO Tool on Nation Branding and the Role of Intellectual Property, in Particular, Trademarks and Geographical Indications, in Creating, Developing and Strengthening a Nation Branding in Countries in Transition, to seek a last round of in-puts and comments before finalizing the document, as well as the issues of promotion and follow-up activities.
The Workshop was attended by more than 30 experts from the countries in transition representing public and private sector stakeholders and academia.
This Workshop contributed greatly to the raising awareness of the importance for countries, not only for enterprises, of competing for attention and goodwill in a globalized world by using well managed branding strategies at the national, regional and international levels.
The event resulted in the adoption of the Tool on Nation Branding and the Role of Intellectual Property, in Particular, Trademarks and Geographical Indications, in Creating, Developing and Strengthening a Nation Branding in Countries in Transition.
