PATENTS ACT (CHAPTER 221)

PATENTS (AMENDMENT NO. 2) RULES 1997

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 42, 110 and 115 of the Patents Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Patents (Amendment No. 2) Rules 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st June 1997.

Amendment of rule 114

2. Rule 114(4) of the Patents Rules (R 1) is amended —

(a) by deleting “$4” in sub-paragraph (a) and substituting “$10”; and

(b) by deleting “$30” in sub-paragraph (b) and substituting “$36”.

Amendment of First Schedule

3. The First Schedule to the Patents Rules is amended —

(a) by deleting “320” in item 3 under the heading “Amount ” and substituting “350”;

(b) by deleting “35” in item 5 under the heading “Amount ” and substituting “38”;

(h) by deleting “20” in item 28 (b) under the heading “Amount ” and substituting “22”;

(i) by deleting “25” in item 28 (d) under the heading “Amount ” and substituting “28”;

(j) by deleting “320” in item 31 under the heading “Amount ” and substituting “360”;

(k) by deleting “70” in item 33 under the heading “Amount ” and substituting “80”;

(l) by deleting “390” in item 37 under the heading “Amount ” and substituting “430”;

(m) by deleting “20” in item 46 under the heading “Amount ” and substituting “22”; and

(n) by deleting “120” in item 50 under the heading “Amount ” and substituting “135”.
