Year of Version 2006 Dates Adopted: June 9, 1998 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Trademarks, Geographical Indications, Trade Names, Competition, Undisclosed Information (Trade Secrets), Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, IP Regulatory Body Notes This consolidated version of the Law incorporates amendments up to Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 174 of July 7, 2006, which came into force on July 29, 2006 (see Article 1; Article 5(4), (7), (8); Article 5-1; Article 7; and Article 7-1 of the consolidated version for the amendments made by the said Law No. 174).

The consolidated Law contains provisions on acts of unfair competition closely related to intellectual property (see Article 5).
