Details Details Year of Version 2013 Dates Amended up to: October 25, 2013 Entry into force: January 17, 1973 Promulgated: January 11, 1973 Type of Text Framework Laws Subject Matter Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes This consolidated version of the Civil Procedure Code incorporates all amendments up to Law No. 12.873 of October 24, 2013, which entered into force on different dates. Article 60 of Law No. 12.873, which took effect on October 25, 2013, added §2 to Article 285-B and renumbered the sole paragraph as §1 under Section I, Chapter I, Title VIII, Book I of this consolidated version. The consolidated Civil Procedure Code protects IP through (i) specific rules (Art. 842, §3 on copyright seizure), (ii) general provisions (Arts. 1–631 on discovery/execution; Arts. 839–843 on seizure safeguards), and (iii) provisional measures (injunctions), combining targeted remedies with general procedures for effective enforcement.
