Notes The Singapore International Commercial Court Rules 2021 (S 924/2021) were issued by the Rules Committee pursuant to section 80 (Rules of Court) of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act 1969 and all other enabling powers.
This consolidated version of the Singapore International Commercial Court Rules 2021 (S 924/2021) incorporates all amendments up to the Singapore International Commercial Court (Amendment) Rules 2024 (S 38/2024), which entered into force on February 1, 2024.
The SICC Rules 2021 apply to intellectual property (IP) disputes, provided certain conditions are met.
Under Order 2, Rule 1(3) of the SICC Rules 2021, the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) has jurisdiction to hear and try an action if any of the following conditions apply:
1. The action is of an international and commercial nature, whether contractual or not;
2. The action relates to an in personam intellectual property dispute; or
3. All parties named in the action have submitted to the jurisdiction of the SICC.
