Details Details Year of Version 2020 Dates Entry into force: December 27, 2019 Published: December 27, 2019 Promulgated: December 26, 2019 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Layout Designs of Integrated Circuits Notes Law No. 13.969 of December 26, 2019 establishes industrial policy for the information and communication technology (ICT) and semiconductor sectors. Article 1 of this law amends, among others, Law No. 11.484 of May 31, 2007 (Law on Semiconductors), which provides for the protection of intellectual property in the topographies of integrated circuits. Articles 11 and 15 of Law No. 13.969/2019 also relate to Law No. 11.484/2007, reinforcing its provisions and incentives. The law further aligns with Law No. 10.973 of December 2, 2004 (BR298 – Innovation Law), incorporating its principles on innovation and technology transfer within the ICT and semiconductor sectors.
