Year of Version 2016 Dates Entry into force: October 1, 2016 Published: April 8, 2016 Promulgated: April 4, 2016 Type of Text IP-related Laws   Subject Matter Industrial Designs Subject Matter (secondary) IP Regulatory Body, Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes This Act on Amendments to the Design Act and Other Provisions Related to Intellectual Property contains amendments to the Act on the Legal Protection of Designs (Article 1), Patent Act (Article 2), Utility Model Act (Article 3), Act on the Protection of Trademarks and Other Signs (Article 4), Regulation Concerning the Implementation of the Trademark Act (Article 5), Act on the Protection of the Topographies of Microelectronic Semiconductor Products (Article 6), Act on Copyright and Related Rights (Article 7), Plant Variety Protection Act (Article 8), the Judicial Officers Act (Article 9), Regulation on the German Patent and Trademark Office (Article 10), Regulation on the Electronic Filing at the Patent Office, the Patent Court and the Federal Supreme Court (Article 11), Regulation on Electronic Legal Transactions with the German Patent and Trademark Office (Article 12), Act on the Costs of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office and of the Federal Patent Court (Article 13), and other laws (Article 14).

Article 15 of this Act states that it entered into force on July 1, 2016, except for Article 2, points 2-4, Article 3, point 1, Article 4, point 1b, point 10 and 13, Article 10, point 1b, point 5 and 6, Article 1 and 12, which entered into force on October 1, 2016.
