Notes This Ordinance implements the provisions of the following Federal Acts:
- Articles 2, paragraph 2; 12 and 18 of the Federal Act of October 9, 1992, on the Protection of Topographies of Semiconductor Products;
- Article 13 of the Federal Act of March 24, 1995, on the Statute and Tasks of the Federal Institute for Intellectual Property.

The notification by Switzerland to the WTO under Article 63.2 of TRIPS states that:
'Registration of topographies, maintenance of topographies register, Customs measures.
Article 9: Safeguarding of industrial and business secrets in topography application files and the
topographies register.'
