Year of Version 2011 Dates Entry into force: May 20, 2011 Adopted: May 20, 2011 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Other, Industrial Property Notes The Law on Private Investment was adopted by the Parliament on April 19, 2011, ratified by the President on May 19, 2011, and published in the Official Gazette (Diário da República) on May 20, 2011 as Law No. 20/11 of May 20, 2011 (Lei No. 20/11 de 20 Maio).
The Law came into force on the date of its publication, according to its Article 98; and repealed the Law No. 11/03 of May 13, 2003, according to its Article 96.

Article 17 of the Law provides that industrial property rights and all types of intellectual property rights are protected under this Law.
