Notes
These Regulations, issued pursuant to Articles 62 and 65 of the Trade Marks Act No 45/1997, make provisions on the procedure for the registration of a trademark in front of the Iclandic Patent Office.
In particular, Articles 5 to 7 provide for the right of priority and article 6 refers to the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property and to the Agreement on the establishment of the World Trade Organization.
Articles 25 to 33 provide make reference to the Madrid Agreement and the Protocol to the Madrid Agreement and provide for the procedure for the international registration of trademarks.
Article 35 sets out that Regulation No 1/1969, concerning the notification and registration of trademarks is repealed on the date of entry into force of these Regulations.
