Year of Version 2013 Dates Adopted: June 12, 2013 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Industrial Designs, Trademarks, Geographical Indications, Plant Variety Protection Notes Article 38 of this Regulation states that 'Regulation No. 1383/2003 of 22 July 2003 Concerning Customs Actions against Goods Suspected of Infringing Certain Intellectual Property Rights and the Measures to be Taken against Goods Found to have Infringed such Rights' is repealed with effect from 1 January 2014.

Article 39 states that applications granted under the said repealed Regulation shall remain valid for the period specified in the decision granting the application during which the customs authorities are to take action and shall not be extended.

Article 40 states that it shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union, which shall apply from 1 January 2014; except for Articles 6, 12(7) and 22(3) which shall apply from 19 July, 2013; and Articles 31(1, 3-7) and 33, which shall apply from the date on which the central database mentioned in Article 32 operates, and which shall be made public by the Commission.
