This consolidated text of the Consumer Protection Act, which is in force from March 21, 2016 incorporates all the amendments up to 'Act on Amendments to the Law of Obligations Act and Other Associated Acts' (Act RT I, 11.03.2016, 1; hereinafter the 'Amendment Act').
The Amendment Act was passed on February 23, 2016, published in Part I of Riigi Teataja (abbreviated to RT I, i.e. the State Gazette) on March 11, 2016, and came into force on March 21, 2016.
For the amendments introduced by the Amendment Act, see the following provisions of the consolidated Act:
- Chapter 7, Section 65, subsection(2);
- Chapter 8, Section 71, subsection (1).
The consolidated Act contains provisions, relating to misleading commercial practices in relation to IP rights (see Chapter 3, Division 2, Section 16, subsections (2) & (4)); and business secrets (see Chapter 4, Division 3, Section 23; Chapter 5, Division 3, Section 38, subsection 3).
