Year of Version 2013 Dates Entry into force: March 22, 2013 Enacted: February 28, 2013 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights) Notes The Republic Act No. 10372, containing 32 sections, makes amendments to certain provisions of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines. Among the amendments to the Intellectual Property Code are the following: establishment of the Bureau of Copyright and Other Related Rights within the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL); grant of specific enforcement functions to the Director General of IPOPHL and his deputies; implementation of technological protection measures and rights management information for copyrighted works disseminated through Internet; copyright limitations and exceptions for the benefit of visually-impaired persons; fair use exceptions to copyright; and clarifications on copyright infringements. Article 32 of this Act states that it takes effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
This Act was published on March 7, 2013 in the Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines, and came into force on March 22, 2013.
