Madrid e-Filing Now Available in Brazil

Brazil has signed up to the Madrid System’s e-Filing service, enabling international trademark registration applicants to file – and intellectual property (IP) Offices to process – applications digitally.

Brazil is the first country in Latin America to offer this WIPO-powered service, bringing the total number of Madrid System members using Madrid e-Filing to 41.

Reminder: Madrid e-Filing lets you file online, communicate directly with your Office of Origin, and receive and respond to any irregularity notices that we (WIPO) may issue. It’s easy, fast, and secure!

“Madrid e-Filing will make it easier for Brazilian trademark holders to access and use the Madrid System, contributing to an increase in the number of Brazilian trademarks protected through WIPO’s international trademark system. For our examiners, the improved ease of communication between our Office, Brazilian holders, and WIPO is already making it faster and more efficient to correct any irregularities.”
Felipe de Castro, Madrid System Coordinator, National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI)
