I, Desmond O'Malley, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 96 of the Patents Act, 1964 (No. 12 of 1964), and the Industry and Commerce (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977(S.I. No. 306 of 1977), hereby make the following Rules:

1.-
(1) These Rules may be cited as the Patents (Amendment) Rules, 1979.
(2) The Patents Rules, 1965 to 1978, and these Rules may be cited together as the Patents Rules, 1965 to 1979.
2. The Patents Rules, 1965 (S.I. No. 268 of 1965), are hereby amended by the substitution for subparagraph (d) of paragraph (1) of Rule 27 of the following paragraph:
"(d) a certified copy of the accepted complete specification filed pursuant to an application for a patent in respect of the said invention made to the Patent Office, London, or a printed copy of the said specification, or"
