I, PÁDRAIG S. Ó hIRIGHILE, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 of the Patents Act, 1964 (No. 12 of 1964), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Patents Act, 1964 (Commencement) Order, 1966.
2. The 1st day of July, 1966, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Patents Act, 1964 (No. 12 of 1964), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

(This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

This Order appoints the 1st July, 1966, as the date on which the Patents Act, 1964 (No. 12 of 1964) comes into operation. By virtue of Rule 3 of the Patents Rules, 1965, the date of commencement of those Rules is also the 1st July, 1966.
