'The Decree-Law No. 160 allows submission to the National Office for Inventions, Technical Information and Trademarks (ONIITEM) of patent applications for inventions in the area of pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical products.
The formalities and official fees for patent applications for pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical products are the same as for all other patent applications.
Pursuant to Decree Law No. 160/95, on receiving patent applications for pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical products, the ONIITEM will determine whether they meet the requirements for publication at least 18 months and no later than 24 months after the submission date, or the priority date if this is requested.

It is recalled that the National Office for Inventions, Technical Information and Trademarks (ONIITEM) is located at: Calle Picota No. 15 entre Luz y Acosta, La Habana Vieja, Ciudad de La Habana, CP 10100, Republic of Cuba. The Office is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
