The current Constitution of Trinidad and Tobago was passed in the House of Representatives on the 26th day of March 1976.
This Constitution does not contain any provision concerning the protection of intellectual property rights, however, Part I of its first chapter on the recognition and protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms cites the enjoyment of property and the right not to be deprived thereof except by due process of law as a fundamental right.
