'This Notice contains a schedule of countries which the Minister of Consumer and Corporate Affairs (now Minister of Industry) has certified, pursuant to the Copyright Act as granting the benefit of copyright protection to Canadian citizens.'

COPYRIGHT ACT

Notice Pursuant to Subsection 4(2) of the Copyright Act Certifying that Certain

Countries Grant the Benefit of Copyright Protection

Short Title 1 This Notice may be cited as the Certification of Countries Granting Copyright

Protection Notice.

Certification 2 The Minister of Consumer and Corporate Affairs hereby certifies that the

countries listed in the schedule grant or have undertaken to grant to citizens of

Canada the benefit of copyright on substantially the same basis as to its own

citizens or copyright protection substantially equal to that conferred by the

Copyright Act and, for the purpose of the rights conferred by the said Act, such

a country shall be treated as if it was a country to which the said Act extends.

LOI SUR LE DROIT D’AUTEUR

Avis donné en vertu du paragraphe 4(2) de la Loi sur le droit d’auteur certifiant

que certains pays accordent les avantages du droit d’auteur

Titre abrégé 1 Le présent avis peut être cité sous le titre : Avis certifiant que des pays

accordent les avantages du droit d’auteur.

Certification 2 Le ministre de la Consommation et des Corporations certifie que les pays

énumérés dans l’annexe accordent ou se sont engagés à accorder aux citoyens

du Canada les avantages du droit d’auteur aux conditions sensiblement les

mêmes qu’à ses propres citoyens ou une protection de droit d’auteur réellement

équivalente à celle que garantit la Loi sur le droit d’auteur et, pour l’objet des

droits conférés par cette loi, un tel pays doit être traité comme s’il était un pays

tombant sous l’application de cette loi.
