Year of Version 2006 Dates Adopted: May 31, 2004 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge (TK), Other Notes The National Environmental Management Biodiversity Act 2004 entered into force on a date fixed by the President by proclamation in the Gazette, in accordance with its Article 106. Accordingly, the Act entered into force on September 1, 2004 except for sections 49, 57, 65, 66 and 71 and Chapter 7, which entered into force on April 1, 2005; and Chapter 6 and section 105, which entered into force on January 1, 2006.
