Notes:	This Constitution was approved on August 19, 1992 by national referendum and establishes a separation of powers among executive, legislative, and judicial branches; a multiparty political system; and the protection of human rights and freedom of speech. Article 26 of the Malagasy Constitution states the following: (1) Everyone shall have the right to participate in the cultural life of the community, in scientific progress, and the resulting benefits.
