'The laws and decrees amending the Code of Penal Law [Decree-Law No. 6/1990, No. 12/1990, No. 112/1990, and Laws No. 12/1990, No. 20/1990, No. 65/1992, No. 83/1992, No. 88/1992, No. 104/1992, No. 140/1996 have been incorporated in the Code on the occasion of its entire republication in the Official Gazette No. 601 of July 12, 2006.

The Penal Code contains provisions on criminal sanctions for the infringement of intellectual property rights (IPR infringements) in the following: the offence of counterfeiting the subject matter of an invention (Article 299), the offence of releasing counterfeit goods for free circulation (Article 300), and the acts of unfair competition (Article 301).'
