The Amendment Law No. 150/2015 was adopted on July 22, 2015, was published in the Official Gazette on September 10, 2015, and came into force 30 days after its publication.
For the amendments introduced by Article 2 of the Amendment Law, see the following provisions of Book I, Title II, Subtitle I, Chapter II of the consolidated Code:
- Section I, Articles 166;
- Section II, Article 168;
- Section III, Articles 185, 188, 190-A and 193.

Article 48 of Book I, Title I, Chapter III, Section II, Subsection IV of this consolidated Code provides that the law applicable to copyright is the law of the first publication of the work or, if it has not been published, the personal law of the author (based on nationality), without prejudice of special legislation; and the law applicable to industrial property rights is the law of the country of its creation.

Article 1303 of Book III, Title II, Chapter I, Section I provides that copyright and industrial property rights are subject to special legislation; and that the provisions of this Code are also applicable to those rights, when they are in harmony with the nature thereof and are not contrary to the regime especially established for them.
