Regulations Concerning the Registration of Trade Marks and Collective Marks (consolidated version of 1993), Norway

Back

Repealed Text
Year of Version 1993 Dates Entry into force: October 1, 1961 Adopted: August 4, 1961 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Trademarks, IP Regulatory Body Notes The notification by Norway to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The Regulations contain specific requirements regarding applications for trademarks, service marks and collective marks, e.g. the applicant's name and address, which goods and services the mark is applied for, the mark, etc. Furthermore, the Regulations contain rules regarding priority and special rights for certain applications for registration, opposition, the contents of the letter of registration, the trademark register, renewals, appeals and fees. The Regulations were amended per 1 January 1996 so that they now comply with the requirements of the TRIPS Agreement. Furthermore, consequential amendments to the Regulations are expected when the newly adopted amendments to the Trademarks Act enter into force (which most likely will be per 1 April 1996, but this will not affect compliance of the regulations with the requirements of the TRIPS Agreement).'

This consolidated version of the Trademark Regulations (issued by the Royal Decree of August 4, 1961) takes into account amendments up to Regulations of November 12, 1993; and was repealed by the Trademark Regulations (issued by the Royal Decree of March 29, 1996).
