Year of Version 1993 Dates Entry into force: October 1, 1970 Adopted: September 10, 1970 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Industrial Designs, IP Regulatory Body Notes This consolidated version of the Regulations of September 10, 1970, on Registration of Designs takes into account amendments up to Regulations of March 12, 1993 (see Section 30 of the consolidated version, relating to Schedule of fees for the amendments made by the said Regulations 1993).

The notification by Norway to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The Regulations contain requirements regarding design applications, e.g. the applicant's name and address and indications with regard to the relevant Article the registration is applied for. The Patent Office shall keep a journal of applications for registration received.
The Regulations contain requirements concerning the contents of the journal. The Regulations also contain the specific requirements regarding priority which were changed per January 1, 1996 in accordance with the TRIPS Agreement, and the Members to the WTO-Agreement will be able to demand priority. The procedures and publication of applications for registration are regulated, so is the design register and the fees.'
