Year of Version 1999 Dates Entry into force: October 1, 1999 Adopted: July 30, 1999 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights), Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, IP Regulatory Body Notes This Decree-Law contains detailed provisions concerning copyright and related rights, and ensures compliance with the 1971 Revision of the Bern Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works.

According to Article 222 of this Decree-Law, the following laws shall be repealed:
-Decree-Law No. 46 980 of April 27, 1966, as extended to Macau by Order No. 679/71 of December 7, 1971;
-Articles 65 to 68 of Decree-Law No. 13 725 of May 27, 1927;
-Decree-Law No. 19/85/M of March 9, 1985 on the Legal Deposit Regime;
-Law No. 4/85/M of November 25, 1985, on the Protection of Phonograms and Videograms;
-Article 2 of Decree-Law No. 17/98/M of May 4, 1998, on Protection Measures against Unlawful Reproduction of Phonograms and Video Recordings.
