This consolidated version of the Organic Law on Higher Education incorporates all the amendments up to the 'Organic Law of Extinction of Universities and Polytechnics Schools Suspended by the Council for Higher Education Evaluation, Accreditation, and Quality Assurance Mechanisms (CEAACES) Ensuring the Efficiency in the Distribution and Use of Public Resources in the Higher Education' (the 'Amending Law'), which was adopted on December 22, 2016, published in the Official Registration Supplement No. 913 on December 30, 2016, and entered into force on the date of its publication.
For the amendments introduced by the said Amending Law, see the following provisions of this consolidated Law:
- Title II, Chapter 2, Articles 24 & 30;
- Title IX, Chapter 2, Section First, Articles 168 & 169;
- General Provisions, the Seventh General Provision, the Ninth General Provision and the Twelfth General Provision;
- Transitory Provisions, the Twenty-eighth Transitory Provision.
The consolidated Law contains provisions regarding the right to obtain revenue arising from the exploitation of the intellectual property created by professors and researchers (see Title II, Chapter II, Article 20(i); and Title VIII, Chapter II, Article 148).
