Year of Version 2013 Dates Entry into force: January 1, 1992 Adopted: June 29, 1991 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Trademarks Notes This Law was amended for the first time in accordance with the Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Amending Some Laws on August 27, 2009; and amended for the second time in accordance with the Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Amending 7 Laws on December 28, 2013.
Article 20 provides, applications must be made for the registration of trade marks of cigarettes, cigars and packed cut tobacco, which shall not be manufactured and marketed before the trade mark is registered upon approval.
