Article 2 of this Order brings into force, on January 1, 2005, a number of provisions of the
Patents Act 2004, all but one of which make amendments to the Patents Act 1977 (“the 1977
Act”). The Order also makes a number of consequential, incidental or supplementary amendments
to the Patents Rules 1995 specified in articles 3 to 8, and makes appropriate transitional provisions specified in article 9 of the Order.
