Notes:
The Article 3 provides that the object of this law is to regulate the production process in Ecuador in order to ensure equitable and sustainable development through promotion of fair trade, encouragement of investment, development of invention and technology, improvement of employment, among others.

The Article 18 guaranties the right of property in general and prohibits all forms of unjustified and discriminatory expropriation.

The Article 78 (h) provides the competence of the Committee of Foreign Trade to impose non-tariff regulation measures to import and export of goods in order to ensure intellectual property rights recognized by national laws in conformity with international instruments.
