World IP Day 2026 Youth Video Competition - Second Prize: I Am Not a Great Athlete... Unfortunately

I am not a great athlete unfortunately. I am just someone who loves sports.

Yet, every time I play, every time I watch a game, every time I put on my shoes or use an App to train, I'm benefiting from ideas created by someone else. Ideas protected by intellectual property.

Behind every sport's innovation, there is an inventor. Intellectual property lets them protect their work there to innovate and share their ideas with the world.

Without intellectual property, many of these ideas might not even exist, including this video made possible by creators who chose to share their work.

And the most important thing, intellectual property isn't just for big companies.

Turns out you don't have to be good at sports to love it, and you don't have to be a genius to have your ideas protected.

OK, maybe not with this design, but the idea is there, and thanks to intellectual property, even if I am not a great inventor, imperfect ideas have the right to exist and maybe one day impact the game, and that is how intellectual property and me are on the field.
