To address this, WIPO is working on a pilot project to simplify the recording of cross-border IP transfers. The WIPO Global IP Assignment Platform, or GIPAP, was established in collaboration with IP officers and IP owners around the world. The goal is to provide a trusted and centralized digital service where IP owners can prepare, submit, and track the filing of IP assignments across multiple jurisdictions.
The result is a more efficient experience for everyone. Transparent IP ownership, streamlined administration and more affordable procedures, all while respecting the requirements and practices of different IP offices.
