WIPO Member States Agree on a Way Forward for Discussions on a WIPO Development Agenda


The General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), meeting from September 25 to October 3, 2006, agreed on Monday to renew the mandate of the Provisional Committee on Proposals Related to a WIPO Development Agenda (PCDA) for a further year. The General Assembly reviewed the positive deliberations during the two sessions of the PCDA in February and June 2006 and emphasized the need to continue discussions on the proposals submitted so far in the process.

IIM Discusses Proposals on a Development Agenda


The second session of the Inter-Sessional Intergovernmental Meeting (IIM) on a Development Agenda for WIPO, held from June 20 to 22, 2005, initiated discussions on a list of proposals identified by member states and decided to continue consideration of these proposals in the next session of the IIM (please see Summary of the Chair below).
