Throughout the year, WIPO hosts a number of meetings both in Geneva and abroad. The meetings abroad are generally organized in collaboration with a host government of one or several of WIPO's member states.
The meetings in Geneva fall under various categories, ranging from Diplomatic Conferences that generally result in a new international treaty, to consultations with representatives of WIPO's member states on key issues relating to the mandate of the Organization. The WIPO Assemblies, which are held in the autumn, take stock of the Organization's work and set the agenda for the following year.
A number of seminars and training programs are also organized throughout the year, either through the various WIPO departments, or through the WIPO World Wide Academy.
