2025 WIPO ICT Leadership Dialogue

The WIPO ICT Leadership Dialogue (WILD) serves as a global platform for leaders at Intellectual Property (IP) offices or organizations to engage in discussions and collaborations pertaining to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for IP business and services. This encompasses digital strategies and policies, digital solutions, IP data, and emerging technologies for IP administration and related services.

In an increasingly dynamic digital landscape, ICT is instrumental in revolutionizing the operations and service delivery of IP offices or organizations. WILD aspires to promote discourse, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among senior management officials and digital leaders globally. This initiative enables them to explore and advance the future of IP services through innovative technologies.

First Session of the WIPO ICT Leadership Dialogue (WILD)

The first session of the WIPO ICT Leadership Dialogue (WILD) will take place in Geneva, at the headquarters of WIPO, from April 14 to 16, 2025.

At this inaugural session of WILD, ICT leaders from IP offices or organizations will have the opportunity to explore the rapidly evolving ICT landscape and its impact on IP business strategies and service delivery. They will share their views on how ICT technologies are transforming the IP business landscape, including key challenges and opportunities of emerging technologies. Additionally, they will identify the ways that IP offices or organizations strengthen global collaboration through multilateral ICT partnerships and enhance interoperability among IP information systems.

By facilitating open and constructive discussions among ICT leaders, WILD aims to drive innovation and enhance the effectiveness of IP services worldwide. Stay tuned for more information as we approach the first session in April 2025.

Setting the stage for digital transformation

On Day 1, we will examine the evolution of the information and communication technology (ICT) landscape and its impact on businesses and service delivery.  ICT leaders and senior managers will engage in interactive discussions on digital strategy and technology trends, share best practices and address the challenges and opportunities associated with digital transformation, considering aspects such as emerging technologies, data governance and cyber resiliency, as well as potential areas for collaboration.

Harnessing emerging technologies for IP

On Day 2, we will examine how emerging technologies are transforming the global IP landscape and impacting IP ecosystems.  Participants will discuss how to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) tools and other innovative technologies into IP business operations and services.  A discussion will also be held on extending collaboration and utilizing technology to improve efficiency and innovation in the global IP ecosystem.
