Juan Vanrell

Juan Vanrell is currently Secretary to the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and has held this position since 2006.

He is partner of Bacot & Bacot, a law firm and Industrial Property Agent in Uruguay and is partner in Ideas Trademark and Patents, in Costa Rica.
 
Founder member of the advisory group which implemented the change of Uruguayan domain names, from .com.uy to .uy.
 
He served as President from 2004 to 2008 to the Uruguayan Association of Industrial Property Agents (AUDAPI), and is at present member of this association.
 
He is also member of the International Trademark Association (INTA). Over the past 10 years he has been involved in different Work Committees and currently serves in the Non Traditional Trademarks Committee.
                     
He has a degree as an Industrial Property Agent in Uruguay and a PhD in Philosophy in Business Administration, with emphasis in IP
 
He has participated as Speaker in various regional and international conferences since 1994 in on many topics relating IP matters.
