David Sweeney is an Irish lawyer with extensive experience of intellectual property
gained whilst representing governments, producers, writers and performers at national and
international level. David has for the past four years served as Senior Counsel to the European
Videogame Industry's trade association, ISFE, and there has dealt with a wide range of IPR-related
subjects in the dynamic and innovative videogame sector.
Starting his professional career as a musician, David went on to work in senior counsel roles
at the International Record Industry Federation (IFPI), the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and
for European multimedia company Vivendi Universal. He is recognised as an expert on rights issues
within the videogame, music, television and film industries.
